MBHS Lagos OBA Election Process Guidelines

Dear Distinguished Old Boys,
 
2025 Elections of New Members of the Executive Committee of our Association 
 
Preparations for the elections taking place on Saturday, November 22, 2025, has commenced with the recent announcement of the Electoral Committee members.
 
The following guidelines are hereby provided for all Old Boys.
 
Contestants To Express Interest To Contest In Writing; Not later than 4th of Nov 2025
 
Expression of interest to contest, stating the office aspired for, should be submitted in writing to the Secretary, Electoral Committee email: idmuda@yahoo.com / phone & whatsapp = 0806 705 7767
 
The deadline for expressions of interest is Tuesday, November 4, 2025.
 
*Financial Requirement:*
 
Every contestant must meet the requirement of having paid annual subscriptions for the last three years. The evidence of payment should accompany the written expression of interest to contest.
 
Campaign And Manifesto Night;
 
Campaigns on DOB Platforms and by direct messaging to Old Boys will be allowed between November 7 and 14, 2025.
 
Campaign materials being shared must be decent and non-abusive.
 
Manifesto Night, to allow the candidates to present their plans to and answer questions from Old Boys, will be held online on Saturday, November 15, 2025 at a time to be announced.
 
*Voting Process*:
There will be online and in-person voting.
Each person can only opt for either of the two options.
 
Preregistration For Voters will be required of all old boys. This is essential given the unique nature of our voting process this year (The details process will be announced soon).
Pre-registration for both physical and online voting will be done via smart survey (This process will be explained better in the pre-registration information guidelines).
 
*Voters: For this election, voters are being given leeway to vote without having paid their dues. This is done to have mass participation; however, we implore members to use this opportunity to pay their dues.*
 
*Final Voters List:*
This will be in place 3 days before the voting day for inspection and correction where necessary.
 
*In-person Voting:*
 
Voter's slips, pre-counted before commencement of voting, will be made available and properly monitored during the in-person voting.
 
*Voting:*
 
Online voting will be completed before the commencement of the AGM. Timeline will be made to all Old Boys.
 
In-person voting will be conducted physically at the AGM at the allotted time using the voting slips. Counting of votes will be carried out immediately after the voting.
 
Announcement of Result of Elections:
 
This will be done at the AGM by the Chairman of the Electoral Committee. 
 
The results of the online voting and in-person voting will be announced separately and merged to determine the overall result. 
 
An announcement of the final result will be made by the Chairman of the Electoral Committee.
 
Swearing in of and taking of Oath of Office by the Newly Elected Officers:
 
This will take place immediately after the announcement of the results at the AGM and will be administered by the Chairman of the Electoral Committee.
